A staff member of the Federal Competitive Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Katsina Branch, Ms Muhibat Taiwo Abdulsalam, might be in trouble after she was accused of killing her 57-year-old boss, Julius Haruna, in his office. It was gathered that Muhibat heads the Consumer Education Department for the Commission in Katsina state, while Haruna is the northwest zonal coordinator of the commission.
While speaking to the Daily Post, a source who pleaded anonymity said that the suspect and the victim had a misunderstanding over money on the ill-fated day. He further revealed how the suspect reported her deceased boss to the Kastina GRA police station, accusing him of sexual harassment. However, when she came to his office in the company of two police officers who wanted to invite the victim for questioning, they found him lying dead with his clothes torn and bruised at the upper part of his lifeless body.
Additionally, the Daily Post confirmed that the late Julius Haruna had reported the suspect to the head office for insubordination on several occasions. Meanwhile, a source who saw the suspect when she came with policemen to the office said that she was unruffled and had no bruises, unlike the deceased.
While speaking on behalf of their family, the victim's brother identified as Aegidius Haruna said, "From the statement given and what I heard, they quarrelled over money approved for her in the office because she needed extra, which he refused to oblige. I think that is how the problem started. He added that they were shocked by his demise and that his family members sent him to seek justice for his late brother. He stated that the victim was in detention at the GRA police station but noted that she would be transferred to the state CID in due course.
